The StoryXLab Cohort 1 experience is coming to a close, and it feels less like an ending and more like a powerful beginning. Over the last few weeks, we watched a room full of young creatives step into themselves – louder and , clearer. What started as a storytelling program quickly became something deeper: a space where voices grew roots and ideas found direction.
From our first workshop to the final presentations, we can surely state that stories don’t just shape narratives; they shape people. Every session revealed new layers of curiosity, and creativity. And watching the participants of this first cohort lean into that growth has been the most rewarding part of the journey.
Celebrating the People Who Made It Possible
Programs like StoryXLab don’t thrive on content alone; they thrive on people – those who teach, and pour into others with generosity.
To our facilitators:
Lisa Rusell of artsenvoy.ai
Dr Abiola Dawodu-Olumodej aka Madame Merola
Dr Naomi Osemedua
Recheal Oluchi Isaac
Malik Afegbua
Thank you. Thank you for showing up fully, teaching beyond the slides, and holding space for learning, and experimentation. Thank you for giving our cohort the tools to not only tell better stories, but to understand their own.
Your wisdom, and energy, transformed the room and enrinched the curriculum!
What StoryXLab Has Meant to Us
This cohort reminded us why we built StoryXLab in the first place – to prove that creativity becomes powerful when structure meets opportunity, and when young people are given permission to step forward.
We witnessed:
- Ideas evolve into drafts.
- And stories evolve into confidence.
The kind that lingers long after the program ends.
As we close this first chapter, we do so with gratitude – and with excitement for what these young storytellers will build next.
Cohort 1, thank you for trusting this journey.
Your stories matter.
And this is only the beginning.
